Our Story: Angela’s Journey

"I am grateful to cancer. It taught me how much I truly love life."

– Angela Pearl, Ovarian Cancer Survivor of Pearl of Hope

The story of Pearl of Hope begins with an unexpected moment.
When Angela Pearl received her ovarian cancer diagnosis, it felt like the ground beneath her feet had vanished. It was a shock—sudden, life-altering, and deeply painful. But even as fear and grief set in, Angela made a quiet, powerful decision: She would face this challenge with courage, curiosity, and love.

Rather than surrender, Angela became actively involved in her healing. She listened to the teachings of Dr. Joe Dispenza, turned inward through daily meditation, and embraced a ketogenic lifestyle backed by growing research. She followed expert recommendations, but also leaned into her intuition. She became a student of her own body and spirit.

“I didn’t just want to survive,” Angela says. “I wanted to understand, to heal deeply—and then to give back.” Out of the darkness, a mission began to take form.

Angela's journey wasn't just about personal transformation—it became a beacon for others. She wanted every woman, every patient facing ovarian cancer, to know: You are not alone. Even in the lowest, most painful moments, there is light. There is hope. There is a path forward. That path led to Pearl of Hope—a newly created, community-driven organization devoted to raising awareness, sharing knowledge, and supporting women and their families facing ovarian cancer. Angela’s personal experience, her resilience, and her radiant energy are woven into everything we do.

“I’m here to remind others that healing is possible, that joy returns, and that when we come together, we can create something beautiful from even the hardest of places.”

At Pearl of Hope, we believe in the power of shared stories, science-informed choices, and unwavering compassion. We’re here to walk beside you, advocate for you, and remind you that in every journey—there is hope.

About Us

At Pearl of Hope, we are more than an organization—we are a movement built on compassion, science, and solidarity.

Founded by a unique group of medical professionals, scientists, patients, caregivers, and dedicated volunteers, our mission was born out of both personal experience and professional insight. We came together with one shared purpose: to reach those affected by ovarian cancer with knowledge, support, and hope.

We believe that no one should face this journey alone.

Ovarian cancer is often diagnosed late, leaving many women and families unprepared, under-informed, and isolated. In Switzerland and across Europe, we recognized a deep gap—especially in coordinated patient education, psychosocial support, and accessible expert guidance. We uncovered that while excellent care exists, there was no single place that brought it all together for the patients and families who need it most.

That’s where Pearl of Hope comes in.

We offer a growing platform that brings relevant, timely, and multilingual information to women of all backgrounds—regardless of geography, ethnicity, or financial status. Through online webinars, live community events, and educational programs, we share the latest advancements from the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, as well as practical, emotional, and psychological tools to support everyday life with ovarian cancer.

Our goals are clear:

To educate and empower through science-based, patient-centered resources

To connect women, caregivers, and healthcare providers into a caring community of action

To amplify voices often unheard and advocate for change

To bring in experts across disciplines—from oncology to nutrition, psychology to complementary therapies

To raise and share donations transparently with those in urgent need, including patients with limited access to care.

At the heart of it all is a deep belief: In every dark moment, there is light—and we are here to help you find it.

Together, we are building a new standard for ovarian cancer advocacy in Switzerland and beyond—one rooted in compassion, credibility, and community.

WHAT IS OVARIAN CANCER?

Ovarian cancer begins when cells in the ovaries begin to grow uncontrollably. It is one of the most common types of cancer in women, often called the "silent killer" due to its vague symptoms.

The ovaries are small glands that produce eggs and hormones. There are different types of ovarian cancer, but most start in the cells that cover the ovaries. In some cases, the cancer can spread to other parts of the body.

Ovarian cancer often doesn't show symptoms in its early stages. As the disease progresses, it can cause bloating, abdominal pain, changes in appetite, and frequent urination. Because these symptoms overlap with many other conditions, early detection is challenging.
